St Genevieve Lakes

Exclusive Carp-Fishing Syndicate near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

St Genevieve Lakes is a private carp-fishing complex situated in attractive Suffolk countryside near Bury St Edmunds.

The complex comprises three beautifully landscaped lakes set within approximately 225 acres. Each water offers its own character, challenges and opportunities for dedicated carp anglers.

Access is based on syndicate membership rather than ordinary day tickets. Anglers interested in joining should contact the fishery directly for current membership information and availability.

The Three Lakes

St Genevieve’s Lake

At approximately 24 acres, St Genevieve’s Lake is the largest water on the complex. Named after the nearby village of Fornham St Genevieve, it is also the estate’s oldest and most mature lake.

Its size, established surroundings and specimen carp make it an appealing water for experienced anglers prepared to invest time in locating fish and understanding their movements.

All Saints Lake

All Saints Lake covers approximately six acres. Its more intimate size creates a different fishing experience while still offering challenging carp fishing in attractive surroundings.

Smaller waters should not be underestimated. Quiet bankside movement, accurate bait placement and careful observation can be particularly important.

St Martin’s Lake

St Martin’s Lake is the newest of the three waters. At approximately 12 acres, it provides a further specimen-carp challenge and adds variety for syndicate members.

Always check the fishery’s current information to confirm which memberships and waters are available.

Preparing for a Syndicate Session

Success on an established syndicate water often comes from preparation, consistency and learning how the carp respond throughout the seasons.

Useful approaches may include:

  • Spending time watching the water before choosing a swim

  • Using suitable main line and dependable end tackle

  • Carrying several presentation options

  • Applying bait carefully rather than automatically introducing large quantities

  • Keeping disturbance around the bank to a minimum

  • Recording captures, conditions and successful areas

  • Being prepared for changing weather and longer sessions

Every rig and tactic must comply with the fishery’s current rules.

Fish Care and Responsible Angling

Specimen carp require careful handling and appropriately sized equipment.

Prepare your landing net, unhooking mat and fish-care products before casting. Keep captured fish low over a suitable padded mat, support them correctly and return them promptly and carefully.

Respect other syndicate members, avoid unnecessary disturbance and leave every swim clean. Fishery rules should always take priority over general advice.
